Megasari Biography
Megasari Elisabet Honggokusuma was born in Surabaya, Indonesia. She decided to pursue her dream in the musical field and enrolled in University of Pelita Harapan (UPH) Conservatory of Music in Indonesia. Megasari’s teachers included Levi Gunardi and Fabiola Chianiago. She graduated from UPH with a Bachelor degree of Piano Pedagogy in 2014. Megasari finished her Master of Piano Pedagogy at the University of South Florida (USF) with Dr. Eunmi Ko in 2018. Piano is Megasari’s primary instrument she plays; however, she also has experiences in playing other instruments, such as the violin and guitar.
Megasari has attended many professional workshops, such as Master Class from András Schiff, “Piano Exercise” by Steven Spooner, How to Teach Disabled Student, Piano Curriculum, etc. In addition, she has participated in several concerts at UPH, USF, and in the “East Meets West” Concert as an accompanist and a solo performer. She also teaches young adult and adult students since 2010. During her career in Indonesia, she had a good record of sending her students to participate in student recitals and exams.
Megasari is also involved in areas other than teaching. She is the accompanist of Eurhytmy Class. She is also a keyboardist and a vocalist in her church for many years now. She is the Music Director of Angklung Indonesia. Also, she makes the arrangement and conducts the group as well. Finally, Megasari composes several songs that was played by her students in their recital and some were used for church needs.
